Prayer Please

-I just found out that a good friend of mine, and my hair dresser for the past 4.5 years, has lost her husband in a car accident. Please stop for a moment and pray for her and her 2 young children. I can't even begin to fathom the loss she is feeling right now.

-Please also lift up Brandon's grandma. She is a strong, independent 91-year-old woman, but has recently been admitted to the hospital for heart problems. They have revived her heart back to a regular beating pattern but she is still having horrible pains throughout her body. The doctors aren't sure what is wrong and no medicine seems to help the pain. I just pray that the pain leaves and she can just relax and enjoy the days she has left on this earth until she goes to join our Lord in heaven.

Frameable?

Brandon and I loved our trip to Italy and Paris this summer for multiple reasons - one of which was for the beautiful architecture that could make for some great artwork for our first place!! I have messed with a few of these pictures in the hopes that we could blow them up and hang them on the wall. I wish I had an artistic eye! I LOVE photography. I wish I could spend a year learning how to see an object and be able to make it look beautiful in a photo! But, until that year comes knocking on my door, I'm just going to try my best with my amateur eye!

On a side note... isn't he a stud?

ENJOY!!

2nd Grade

Today I had the pleasure of subbing for Katie Croix, a 2nd grade teacher at Hawk Elementary. I have subbed for her a few times already and I will be subbing for her next month while she is in Cancun on her honeymoon (how exciting!!). I just love this little class of 22 students. There is such a range of personalities in this class. You have the sweet girls who want to help you do everything - pass our papers, clean the floor, stack papers... When I ran out of things for them to do, they walked away, stood their for a second whispering and ran back to me and said "can we organize all the books on the shelves?". I just smiled and said "yes".

Then you have the little boy who can't sit still for more than two seconds and you constantly have to remind him of what he should be doing. But then every time he is near you, he wraps his two little arms, one which is in a cast, around your legs and your heart just melts!

And then there are the few children that are perfectionist on all their classwork and, even though they have to stay inside during recess to finish their work, they are so proud of their work in the end!

What a sweet little class! I love that I am at the point that I can walk into a classroom and the children yell "Ms. Landes"! No matter how bad of a day you are having, you can't help but smile when you hear 22 little voices exclaiming for joy when you open the door! Oh how God made children so precious!!

*Katie's classroom is adorable! Every time I sub there I end up jotting down tons of notes about the cute things and creative activities she has for the children. She is an excellent teacher!*

Although subbing isn't my goal in life, I am really trying to make the most of it. It is quite the learning experience! These teachers I sub for invest so much time and money into making school a fun environment for the children! Praise be to God for teachers!
